Atlas Caravan Holiday Homes
The Atlas Caravan Company is an award winning manufacturer of static caravans, holiday leisure homes. It is one of the bigger makers of holiday homes, producing about 6,000 units a year from its 20-acre site in Hull.
The Atlas Concept model won the Caravan Industry Caravan Holiday Home of the Year for 2006. The other Atlas models are: Sherwood Super, Oakwood, Solitaire, Heritage Super, Amethyst, Nevada, Lakeland, Oasis, Melodie, and Tempo.
The Concept2
The Atlas Concept2 is one of the popular models in the Atlas range of static caravan holiday homes. The design of this award-winning model is a tri-dimensional reason why Atlas has earned a reputation for outstanding build quality in its holiday homes. The Concept experience starts from the outside, when you see the asymmetric pitched roof done in coated-steel pantile roofing. The entrance, windows and a standard patio sliding door are all double glazed, to complement the insulation in the roof, walls and under the floor. As an option, you may choose to have more windows instead of the patio sliding door.
Inside, you experience the spaciousness of the lounge, with the vaulted ceiling adding to the sense of space, and the electric fire giving a sense of comfort. A glass panelled balustrade discreetly separates the dining room area without breaking the continuity of space between the living and dining areas. The roomy sofa hides a foldout sprung double bed, while the dining area features upholstered chairs around a freestanding table.
The kitchen in the Concept2 is a haven for those who love to cook. The standard features are a 700mm oven with grill and a 5-ring hob, both with electronic ignition. The hob comes with a stainless steel hood. There is also an integrated fridge/freezer and microwave oven. As an option, you can ask for a washing machine or dishwasher to come with the rest of the standard appliances. There is a stainless steel, double sink in one corner of the kitchen.
This model provides ample storage space in the lounge, bedroom and kitchen. In the kitchen especially, there is a metal drawer system for kitchen items. In the bedrooms, under-bed storage augments the wardrobe and cabinets. The second bedroom features twin beds. There are two shower rooms, one in the master bedroom and one for general use, both of which are fitted with thermostatically controlled shower mixers.

Sherwood Super
The Atlas Sherwood Super also features extra insulation in walls, roof and under the floor. The cabinet work everywhere in this holiday home follows traditional lines but fitted with brilliant-cut glass panel. Framed pictures are provided in the lounge and the master bedroom. The main bedroom features a divan style bed, with an antique style brass bed-head. The second bedroom has twin beds, which can easily be joined to make a double bed if so desired. The model features a tub style bath and a shower with thermostatically controlled shower mixers, as well as a second shower room.
The kitchen comes fully equipped with a range style oven and hob, a large capacity integrated fridge and freezer, a choice between washing machine or dishwasher and a microwave oven. There is an extractor fan above the hob for air recirculation, and a metal drawer system.
The lounge has a freestanding television unit and has fully lined curtains. In the kitchen and bathrooms the windows are covered by Venetian blinds.
Oakwood
The Atlas Oakwood static caravan, and most of the other Atlas models, use the same basic twin-axle galvanised chassis and frame as the Concept2 and the Sherwood Super. Oakwood's cabinetwork is done in contemporary style and fitted with smoked glass panels. There are lined curtains on the walls of the lounge and wooden blinds in the bedrooms, dining area, and the kitchen.
An integrated fridge and freezer, plus a hob with electronic ignition and an oven with grill are standard equipment in the kitchen. Though there is a freestanding dining table and upholstered chairs, it is possible to have breakfast in the kitchen with its breakfast bar and stools.
The main bedroom is fitted with a divan style bed, and the second bedroom has twin beds with under-the-bed storage. There is a domestic size bath and thermostatically controlled shower in the main bedroom plus a second shower room.
