Caravanners face traffic congestion this bank holiday

A study by esure predicts that road delays will increase for caravan owners compared to the long weekend in 2006.
In all, the company found that 49 per cent of all Britons are planning to travel over the bank holiday, meaning that 5.6 million motorists - including many caravanners - face long delays before they reach their destination.
The study predicts that the average delay caravanners will face will be at least 45 minutes - five minutes more than they would have faced travelling on last year's Whitsun bank holiday.
"Travel delays are part and parcel of any bank holiday Monday but the worst place to be is stuck in a traffic jam where there's no escape," explained Mike Pickard, the head of risk and underwriting at esure.
"Drivers should make sure that they, their vehicle and their passengers are prepared for the journey.
"Both people and engines' temperatures often rise in traffic jams causing emotional and mechanical breakdowns en route."
