Caravan maker 'confident of strong year'

French caravan producer Trigano revealed that half-year profits slipped from €28.6 million in 2006 to €21.3 this year.
Despite this, the company reported that it still expects to meet its yearly sales targets, helped by the renaissance that caravanning in undergoing in the UK and the rest of Europe.
A statement from the company read: "A good overview on the leisure vehicles activity (nearly 90 per cent of the sales) for the second half-year makes Trigano confident in its ability to meet its year-end sales target (€940 million)."
It added that there had been a "distinct improvement in operating conditions for most business units producing motor caravans," which it believed was a sign for "good progress for the second half-year results".
Recently, several reports from the UK have claimed that caravanning is becoming increasingly 'cool' with celebrity fans including Madonna and Jay Kay from the band Jamiroquai.
