Caravanners 'want fly-drive options'
Article Published On 16 May 2007
Driving a caravan all the way to the south of France every year can be a draining experience, even for the most die-hard caravan fan, and new evidence suggests that many owners would rather leave their vehicle somewhere secure in Europe.
This would allow the caravan enthusiast to take advantage of the many cheap flights available to continental Europe and simply pick up their caravan at the beginning of their holiday.
"We were getting lots of enquiries from customers wanting to store their caravans abroad to save journey times," explained Julie Carter from caravan company Flux.
"There are now beautiful storage sites throughout Europe and we wanted to make sure our customers could take full advantage of their facilities."
Caravanning is becoming an increasing popular holiday option for many people. Holiday makers are typically attracted to the freedom and the fact that caravanning is environmentally sound.
Groups like the Caravan Club represent the interests of nearly one million caravanners in the UK, showing just how popular the pastime is becoming.
