Hidden past 'makes cars unfit to tow caravans'

More Than reports that nearly a million of the used cards sold every year in the UK have hidden past that the new owner is not aware of.
Nearly a third (29 per cent) of the vehicles with some kind of adverse history has outstanding finance issues. This means that the vehicle could be potentially repossessed at anytime, leaving the new owner with no car to tow their caravan home.
Other common problems in the history of used cars include it having been previously written-off, meaning that the car could prove to be unfit to tow a caravan. Equally, some cars which have been declared stolen were found to on sale.
"It's frightening how many vehicles on the road today have a questionable past," said Mike Holliday-Williams, managing director of More Than.
Mr Holliday-Williams added that caravan drivers could buy themselves piece of mind by having an independent check-up on the vehicle's past.
"With AutoCheck any worries can be put to bed in just a few minutes, and you can look forward to the future with your new car rather than stressing about its past."
