Burnam-on-sea.com reports that caravan sites in Somerset enjoyed a particularly busy May bank holiday.
In fact, the website reports that Holiday Resort Unity in Brean, near Weston-super-mare, experienced if busiest May bank holiday on record.
Caravanners appear to be already planning for the summer, as the site has also seen enquires for June, July and August soaring.
"We had been anticipating a busy Easter, as the indications earlier in the year were that this was going to be a very successful year thanks to the support of regular returning visitors, however we have also seen an influx of new visitors to the area too," the caravan site's spokesperson, Nick Burrett, told the website.
"Caravan and camping holidays have become increasingly popular, with many families investing in new caravans and motor homes to take advantage of the great outdoors and beautiful scenery around the local area."
Caravanners can look forward to a scorching summer in the UK, according to the Met Office. Its long-range forecast revealed that there is a 70 per cent chance that the average temperature over the season will exceed averages.
