On July 23rd, 7,000 enthusiastic caravanners will visit the palace to celebrate 100 years of caravanning in the UK.
When the club started in 1907, its mission was "to bring together those interested in van life as a pastimeā¦to improve and supply suitable vans and other appliancesā¦.to develop the pastime".
Now with 360,000 member households and 3,000 sites around the UK, the club certainly has something to celebrate.
Indeed, the event at the palace proved so popular that nearly 28,000 applications to attend the event were received. To decide who would be allowed to go to Buckingham Palace an independent draw was undertaken.
Other events that are planned to mark the anniversary of the Caravan Club include the Centenary Ball in June and the massive National Rally which is set to draw caravanners from throughout in the country at the end of May.
