Tea light 'responsible for caravan fire'

The Dorset Echo reported that the fire, which occurred on Saturday (April 21st), took twenty firefighters and two senior officials to eventually contain.
After starting in a caravan parked on Hightown Road near Ringwood in Hampshire, the blaze quickly spread, burning another caravan, as well as a shed and a 4x4 vehicle.
It is believed that the daughter of the caravan owner, Clare Melbourne, left a small tea light burning in the caravan. When the fire was noticed, Ms Melbourne's daughter phoned the fire department.
Ms Melbourne told the paper: "There was a gas canister in my caravan and two in my next door neighbour's. As the firemen walked up here the gas canister exploded."
A spokesperson for Hampshire fire department added that caravan users should always be careful where they store their gas canisters.
"Gas canisters do generate a lot of risk," he told the paper. "We would ask people to keep them locked away unless they are being used."
