Lake District and France are 'most popular caravanning destinations'

A survey by Barrons found that nearly a third (31 per cent) of caravanners cited the Lake District as their preferred UK destination.
However, the overwhelming majority (75 per cent) said that France was their favourite worldwide caravan holiday destination.
Elsewhere, the survey showed that a third of caravan owners said they typically managed to get away in their vehicle 12 times every year.
"The survey results just go to show the amount of diversity available through camping and caravanning," said Frances Turner from Barrons.
"These types of holidays are tailor-made to suit literally everyone's needs, whether you go away many times throughout the year for a few nights, or once or twice for 3 weeks."
Mr Turner added that "site itself is a very important aspect to consider and really can make or break a holiday".
"Today's modern outdoor leisure vehicle is essentially a home away from home, with all the luxuries of a hotel and choice of mobility," he concluded.
