Survey reveals caravanners' Easter plans

Figures published by Green Flag reveal that 75 per cent of motorists plan to travel at least 50 miles over the Easter weekend and many of these people will take their caravan with them.
Equally, many people (47 per cent) said that they plan on extending their Easter trip to six days.
Green Flag's survey also found that the majority of caravanners plan on getting away from it all - with 49 per cent of motorists saying they were set to visit the coast and 47 per cent heading to the countryside.
However, the data also showed that many people heading off in the caravans are likely to break down as they do not bother to carry out essential maintenance before departing.
A quarter (24 per cent) of drivers said they never both to check things like tyre pressure, tread depth and the water and oil levels before setting off on a holiday.
"With so many people planning to head out this Easter, it's important for drivers to plan ahead by checking their cars and planning their routes carefully to avoid any motoring mishaps which could scupper a fun trip," said Philippa Naylor, a spokesperson for Green Flag.
Recent research also suggests that caravan owners should make sure their towbar is correctly installed before departing.
