Lee Valley caravan park may close for redevelopment

The caravan park, which holds around 100 static pitches, has be linked with a £11 million canoe course, reports the Hoddesdon and Broxbourne Mercury.
Building work starts early in 2008 but the development has not been without its detractors.
One plot holder at the potential development site said he would be unable to relocate.
He argued: "The caravan park has been such for over 20 years and is an extremely pleasant and well laid out site.
"I bought the caravan as a retirement haven for myself and it's suited me down to the ground. The caravan site has been updated over the last four years - what a waste."
A park spokesman responded: "It was not a decision taken lightly; however siting the Olympic white water canoe slalom course at Spitalbrook brings enormous benefits to the area and the region."
After the games, the site will become a water vole refuge.
