New caravan park for Newcastle

It is hoped that plans for an additional 350 caravans and extra leisure facilities at Golden Sands in Cresswell, close to Druridge Bay, could soon get the go ahead.
The park's owner, Northumbrian Leisure, is looking to expand the site's 240 holiday caravans through the regeneration of a former coalfield.
"This is an important project which deserves support. It will result in a £3.5 million spend in the local economy." said Peter Wadsley QC, representing the firm at a hearing with Castle Morpeth Council, according to the Journal.
"We feel there is here a win, win, win approach allowing improvements to employment and the economy and social advantage, together with protection and enhancement of the environment."
Included in the plans are a new swimming pool, shops and five-a-side football pitches.
