Theft is biggest problem for caravan owners

Industry expert Richard Burgess from Cover4Caravans said theft was a continuing threat and that caravan owners should be fully insured in the event of such activity.
His comments follow figures from the Caravan Club last week showing the popularity of such breaks - some 900,000 caravanners have registered with the organisation with the number continuing to go up.
Mr Burgess said: "Caravan interest has become massive. If you have a family or you are a couple it is one of the cheapest ways to have a holiday."
"On the touring caravans we don't really see any claims. Don't forget that the motor insurance usually picks up the liability risk on the road. We cover damage to the caravans," Mr Burgess added.
"The biggest problem for caravans is theft."
Around £270 million is added to the economy by caravan enthusiasts every year and famous faces such as foreign secretary Margaret Beckett and singer Jay Kay are confirmed addicts.
