Mike Clay, who owns the Rosetta Caravan & Camping Park in Tweeddale, says he wants to add plots for 60 static caravans and build room for 40 more tent spots.
He told the Peeblesshire News: "Peebles has become a popular destination for people wanting to get away from it all, and we are in the fortunate position where there is a bigger demand than what we can cater for at the moment.
"We're not in the business of letting out caravans. The static caravans are bought by people who want to spend some of their time here."
Nearby Glentress Forest in the Tweed Valley Park is very popular with visitors due to its mountain biking and outdoor sports potential. It attracts in the region of 350,000 visitors every year.
