New caravan site for angling enthusiasts
Article Published On 6 December 2006
The site, just half a mile from the popular and bounteous fishing spot of Grafham Water, has recently been bought by the Caravan Club.
The 80-pitch site is situated among some six acres of woodland and gardens and is within a short drive of other popular angling reservoirs such as Pitsford, Ravensthorpe and Rutland.
Plans are afoot for the site to closed in October 2007 so that it can undergo major renovations, with it expected to reopen in spring or the early summer of 2008.
For anglers with non-fishy families, the Grafham Water site has many other activities within easy reach, including horse riding, windsurfing, cycling and golfing.
The caravan site has the remarkable bonus of including a 350-year-old cottage that was once owned by Oliver Cromwell.
