Skiddaw View Caravan Park has won victory in a national environmental recognition scheme organised by famous TV botanist David Bellamy, reports the News and Star.
The caravan site, which is based in Bassenthwaite, is owned by husband and wife Phil and Barbara Carr.
By winning a gold prize in the David Bellamy Conservation Awards, the caravan site is sure to be inundated with many holidaymakers in the future.
A group of local schoolchildren have been invited to mark the winning moment and take part in a mini-safari of the park's wildlife next week.
Visitors to Skiddaw View Caravan Park can enjoy 20 acres of beautiful countryside set around the charming Bassenthwaite Lake. The park also provides a natural habitat for a variety of wildlife including kestrels, red deer, herons, owls and badgers.
