Caravan park scraps controversial plans

Seaview Caravan Park, which is owned by Bourne Leisure, will not proceed with a planning application to modernise and expand the site, the Dorset Echo reports.
However, a number of campaigners remain unconvinced and feel the withdrawal is a PR exercise by the company.
Graham Embley, a campaigner, said: "I think the real motive behind this is they are trying to win hearts and minds before the public enquiry.
"I am almost certain there will be more plans presented to us in the future to try and make the whole scheme more palatable to residents and planning officers."
The plans for the 30 new static caravan bases at the Bourne Leisure site were refused planning permission by the council on the grounds of being "visually intrusive".
Anton Bednarek, company director, said: "Following the public exhibition of our proposals held on August 30th we have given full consideration to the comments received verbally and in writing.
"We have decided not to progress the comprehensive planning application for Seaview and will reconsider matters as part of a much wider strategic review of future improvements to the Weymouth and Seaview parks having regard to comments made at the public meeting."
