Lunar Motor Homes
Lunar have been building technologically advanced caravans and motor homes since 1969, the name Lunar being drawn from the first landing on the Moon, the momentus event which happened in 1969.
Lunar Motorhomes first entered the market in 1975 but withdrew in 1978 to concentrate on their lightweight touring caravans. However with increased interest in the motorhome market, Lunar re-entered it in 1996 with their Roadstar and Newstar models. Since this re-entry, Lunar Motorhomes have gone from strength to strength and now boast some 10 different motorhome models in their current range.
The Telstar, Xstar and Fivestar luxury models are based on a Renault chassis.They offer a great design, complete with fully fitted kitchen. Each model has a different layout, including a fixed bed with the Lunar Fivestar.
A Fiat chassis is used for the ever popular Roadstar model. The design is spacious and with a good range of standard equipment the Lunar Roadstar is a comfortable, pratical motorhome.
The Moonstar 570 and the Moonstar 580 use the Fiat Ducato chassis and are proving popular models. The layouts of each of the models is quite different. The 570 is more traditional and has both the kitchen and toilet/shower at the rear of the motorhome. The 580 has these in the centre and has a nice long rear lounge.
The Goldstar range, introduced for 2007, includes two models, the Goldstar 620 and Goldstar 640. The range is based on the Fiat Ducato. Both models offer an over the cab double bed, with the second bed in the 620 model being either a double or two singles and in the 640 a double or fixed double.
For 2008 the Pinnacle range RL and FB models, using the Ford Transit chassis, are interesting and well designed. There are a vast array of standard features in the Lunar Pinnacle models, including a combined oven and grill, gas heating with hot water boiler and beautiful italian designed curved furniture doors. The Pinnacle RL has a rear lounge, the Pinnacle FB has a fixed bed layout with a half dinette.
