Caravan Accessories

There are so many caravanning accessories available to buy these days and with the constant development of technology accessories and gadgets are constantly getting smaller and lighter allowing caravans to be more luxurious than ever.

All caravanning accessories have a lot in common in that they are all there to maximise our caravanning and camping experience. A lot of accessories are also governed by certain limits of practical size, weight and portability so deciding which ones that you really practically need can be a deciding factor when choosing the right accessories especially for those of us that have smaller caravans or towing vehicles.

The list of accessories available is almost endless:

  • Portable Gas Barbecues
  • Caravan Cookers
  • Water containers
  • Fridges
  • Freezers
  • Water Heaters
  • Sinks
  • Pumps
  • Taps
  • Toilets
  • Heaters
  • Outdoor Space heaters
  • Mosquito deterrents
  • Security equipment
  • Caravan covers
  • Pets beds
  • Awnings
  • Tents

There are also a lot of must have safety accessories such as Gas detectors, gas bubble leak testers and alarms that just give the peace of mind you need to relax and enjoy your caravanning experience just that little bit more.

Your local caravan dealer is probably a good place to start shopping for your accessories and there are also some specialist high street stores that will more than cater for your needs. Argos has a large range of accessories such as awnings, electrical equipment and towing spares. Shopping online for accessories is rather popular these days with some great websites such as the Calor Caravan shop and Caravan Additions.co.uk and of course if you are looking for second hand items or just want to get a bargain there is always Ebay.

When buying caravan accessories you should always make sure you have the capacity to accommodate what ever it is you are buying as overloading your caravan can be extremely dangerous. The Caravan Club advises that you should aim for a towed load that is no more than 85% of the car's kerb weight for stability and safety although this is only a guideline and the car manufacturer's specified maximum permissible tow-load is always the absolute towing limit. This is especially important in those cases where the manufacturer's figure is particularly low - in a few cases even below 85%.
